The Business Y抯 Definition
1. Unit Cost/Entitlement: Projects to reduce hardware costs to achieve entitlement. Represents reduction in engine and spares parts unit cost. Incorporates reductions in Material, Labor and Overhead.
2. Unit Cost/DFSS: Product re-designs on 1) New hardware, 2) Legacy hardware which result in reduced engine and spare parts unit cost. Incorporates reductions in Material, Labor and Overhead.
3. Turn Around Time: Reductions in Overhaul and repair cycle time. Primarily focused on Services. Incorporates reduct-ions in touch labor and other conversion costs. Also includes reductions in capacity related P&E and Rotable requirements.
4. Scrap/Rework: Projects focused on reduction of Scrap and Rework in Production and Engine Services.
5. Warranty/Concession: 1) Projects focused on driving down current issues in W&C, 2) DFSS projects to reduce future W&C 3) DFSS projects focused on developing more robust design tools to improve reliability and reduce long term costs (2-3 yrs)
