1. Supplier shall follow the Production Maintenance Partnership Guidelines for new and
existing machinery and equipment. (See PMP Manual QN-2833)
2. Machinery and equipment shall include design-in features to facilitate quick inspection
and diagnostics to detect wear. (I.e. pressure gage outside the normal operating range)
3. Use of transparent windows, where feasible, to facilitate inspections.
(I.e. transparent/plastic guarding. (Refer to page )
4. Machine design shall display system functions visually. (See PMP Manual QN-2833)
5. Guarding should be designed for ease and timely removal and installation, while meeting
all GM Safety Requirements. (I.e.captive hardware, quick connect and disconnect
components) (See R&M Specification 1.0 GM-3800 for additional list)
6. Machinery and equipment inspection, by the operators, shall meet the requirements by
completing the inspection within a minute or less. The layout for inspection should
illustrate the optimum inspection locations as well as the items to inspect at each
location.

The following requirements shall be incorporated in the machinery and equipment:
! Auxiliary fill points identified and are part of safety placards
! Using GM Standards, layouts/diagrams for machinery and equipment should show color
codes identifying lubrication as well as lubrication schedule.
! Indicate all types of oils and greases
! Indicate lubricant for each point
! Warning plates on the pressure accumulator……
